La energía en el taller de Cosecha de Corazones es de fiesta y cada rincón palpita al ritmo de una celebración constante. Aquí, los corazones de peluche, pequeños embajadores de alegría, infunden vida y color en el espacio. Sin importar su tamaño, estos corazones portan una grandeza espiritual; son emisarios de afecto y símbolos de conexiones profundas. Su presencia convierte cada momento en un homenaje a lo que es verdaderamente vasto y significativo en la vida.

Son corazones, ofrecidos como llaveros y se han convertido en compañeros inseparables de estudiantes y viajeros, enganchados a sus maletas como símbolos de un viaje personal y colectivo. Para algunos, pueden representar una sensación de cursilería, pero, ¿no es esa su naturaleza? La verdadera esencia de estos corazones es su capacidad para disolver barreras y suavizar espíritus, llevando consigo mensajes ocultos con frases como "Vive Intensamente", "Escucha tu Corazón", "Abraza Todas las Posibilidades", "La Vida es Maravillosa", "El Universo te Acompaña", "Todo es Posible", "El Amor es Vida", "Eres Increíble". Son mensajes, inscritos en su ser y se convierten en la esencia vibrante de estos acompañantes peludos, ofreciendo un abanico de colores y diseños, listos para embarcarse en aventuras y ser testigos de innumerables experiencias.

Hubo un tiempo en que la frase "Corazones para acompañar tu camino" resonó profundamente en Denise y así comenzaron a dispersarse por el mundo, invocando la poderosa energía que conecta y revela grandes espacios de posibilidad.

Estos corazones se han integrado también en los viajes y caminos del taller, generando preguntas como "¿En qué lugar serán fotografiados?", "¿Qué actitud adoptarán para un nuevo camino?" o "¿Qué infinitas posibilidades encontraremos?". Viajar sin corazones es simplemente trasladarse de un lugar a otro; viajar con ellos se convierte en una experiencia transformadora. Cada momento se convierte en un acontecimiento significativo, con los corazones asegurando la presencia plena en el ahora. Ellos hacen que todo se manifieste de una manera más auténtica, más vivida y con más energía expansiva.

Es intrigante reflexionar sobre el acto de fotografiarse con un corazón de peluche. ¿Cómo se convierten la familia y los amigos en cómplices de estas andanzas? ¿Cómo reacciona la gente ante los corazones en las calles, en las ciudades, en los caminos ya transitados? Antes de empezar un viaje, de manera casi ritual, Denise empaca los corazones que van a viajar con ella. Algunos se quedarán en el camino y otros volverán, y se convierten en un símbolo del camino recorrido.

Las personas que hemos gozado de viajar con Denise, sabemos que los corazones son un participante más del viaje y los incluimos en todas las fotos sin pensar dos veces. Es raro ahora tomarse una foto sin un corazón. Pero, la primera persona en “seguirle el juego” a Denise fue Luis Felipe, su compañero de vida y de viajes.

El juego es la vida y es el recorrido que elijamos tomar cada instante y claro que él es parte de este juego y de este proyecto y los corazones están también en sus conversaciones, en su diario vivir y en su camino.

Estos corazones también han llegado a los museos, formando parte de la narrativa junto a grandes obras de arte. Denise recuerda vívidamente la primera vez que sacó un corazón de la maleta en el Museo de Arte Moderno de San Francisco, y empezó a tomarles fotos junto a obras monumentales de Anselm Kiefer y Sigmar Polke. Los corazones, en cierto sentido, retomaron su conversación con estos gigantes artísticos, danzando entre líneas de preguntas sobre el devenir, la existencia, el oficio y la fuerza en sus construcciones pictóricas rebotaban en su cabeza y los corazones por primera vez, conversaban y salían al ruedo entre esta amalgama aforística.

En palabras de Denise:

“No quería dejar de registrar que estaba frente a artistas que yo había estudiado en donde cada pregunta del ser humano se metía dentro de sus obras; la existencia, la desolación, la guerra estaban en Anselm Kiefer. La sencillez, la repetición, lo popular estaban en Sigmar Polke y ahí, un corazón, se enfrentaba a toda esta fuerza. La alquimia, el humor, las referencias populares alemanas y por supuesto la crítica sutil de su propia historia.

Mi cabeza retumbaba entre el tamaño de las obras de los artistas, la selección de la obra para la colección y una conversación con un pequeño corazón.

Recordé una obra experimental de Sigmar Polke en 1988 en el Museo de ese entonces en el Trocadero en París y pude volver a percibir su fuerza, locura y humor.

Los corazones revivieron mi experiencia artística, de una forma diferente, era una conversación desde el juego, era casi como un baile.

Luego dentro del recorrido y siendo parte de la adquisición del museo, encontramos algunas arañas en bronce de Louise Bourgeois, lo femenino atrapado y atrapando, la fuerza y la estabilidad de algo que es un femenino inestable.

Y para terminar una retrospectiva de Robert Rauschenberg, la irreverencia y experimentación a todos los niveles.

Pasar por un recorrido por la obra de Rauschenberg fue un paso por las infinitas posibilidades de expresión artística. Rasuchenberg unía fácilmente lo natural, con lo emblemático, juntando de la misma manera toda la producción en papel que creó entre los 60 a los 80. Terminamos en una obra en donde las burbujas espesas de materiales alquímicos se movían en una piscina transparente.

El corazón solo quería moverse fácil entre estas obras, quería gritar que disfrutaba de todos estos artistas y los tenía en su corazón.

Y por primera vez Luis Felipe jugó, fue y sigue siendo el cómplice de estas andanzas.

Por fin un juego de recorridos se dio!!!”

Los corazones no solo han revivido experiencias artísticas, sino que también las han redefinido, transformando el diálogo en algo lúdico, casi como un baile. Han interactuado sin esfuerzo con las obras de Louise Bourgeois y el espíritu irreverente y experimental de las retrospectivas de Robert Rauschenberg, resonando con las infinitas posibilidades de la expresión artística.

En estos encuentros artísticos, los corazones desean expresar su disfrute y mantener a estos artistas cerca de su 'corazón'. Y Luis Felipe, el cómplice perpetuo, ha participado plenamente, abrazando estas aventuras llenas de arte.

Al continuar en este viaje, con corazones en mano, se está moviendo la energía de una realidad que es infinitamente más divertida con corazones. Esta es la historia de cómo un corazón de peluche se convirtió en un símbolo de conexión emocional y aventura artística.

CONVERSATIONS AMONG HEARTS

The energy in the Cosecha de Corazones workshop is festive, and every corner beats to the rhythm of a constant celebration. Here, the plush hearts, small ambassadors of joy, infuse life and color into the space. Regardless of their size, these hearts carry a spiritual grandeur; they are emissaries of affection and symbols of deep connections. Their presence turns each moment into a tribute to what is truly vast and meaningful in life.

These hearts, offered as keychains, have become inseparable companions of students and travelers, attached to their suitcases as symbols of a personal and collective journey. For some they may represent a sense of cheesiness, but isn't that their nature? The true essence of theme is their ability to dissolve barriers and soften spirits, carrying hidden messages with phrases like "Live Intensely," "Listen to Your Heart," "Embrace All Possibilities," "Life is Wonderful," "The Universe Accompanies You," "Everything is Possible," "Love is Life," "You Are Incredible." These messages, inscribed in their being, become the vibrant essence of these furry companions, offering a range of colors and designs, ready to embark on adventures and witness countless experiences.

There was a time when the phrase "Hearts to accompany your path" resonated deeply with Denise, and thus they began to scatter around the world, invoking the powerful energy that connects and reveals great spaces of possibility.

These hearts have also integrated into the journeys and paths of the workshop, generating questions like "Where will they be photographed?", "What attitude will they adopt for a new path?" or "What infinite possibilities will we find?". Traveling without hearts is simply moving from one place to another; traveling with them becomes a transformative experience. Each moment becomes a significant event, with the hearts ensuring full presence in the now. They make everything manifest in a more authentic, more vivid, and more energetic way.

It's intriguing to reflect on the act of being photographed with a plush heart. How do family and friends become accomplices in these wanderings? How do people react to hearts in the streets, in the cities, on the already traveled paths? Before starting a journey, almost ritually, Denise packs the hearts that will travel with her. Some will stay on the road, and others will return, becoming a symbol of the traveled path.

Those of us who have enjoyed traveling with Denise know that hearts are one more of the participants in the journey, and we include them in all the photos without a second thought. It's strange now to take a photo without a heart. But, the first person to "play along" with Denise was Luis Felipe, her life and travel companion.

The game is life and is the journey we choose to take at each moment, and of course, he is part of this game and this project and the hearts are also in their conversations, in their daily living, and in their path.

These hearts have also reached museums, becoming part of the narrative alongside great works of art. Denise vividly remembers the first time she took a heart out of the suitcase at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and began taking photos of it next to monumental works by Anselm Kiefer and Sigmar Polke. The hearts, in a sense, resumed their conversation with these artistic giants, dancing between lines of questions about becoming, existence, craft, and the strength in their pictorial constructions that echoed in her head. For the first time, the hearts conversed and stepped into the ring amidst this aphoristic amalgam.

In Denise's words:

“I didn't want to stop registering that I was in front of artists I had studied where each human question delved into their works; existence, desolation, war were in Anselm Kiefer. Simplicity, repetition, the popular were in Sigmar Polke, and there, a heart, faced all this force. Alchemy, humor, German popular references, and of course, the subtle critique of their own history.

My head reverberated between the size of the artists' works, the selection of the work for the collection, and a conversation with a small heart.

I remembered an experimental work by Sigmar Polke in 1988 at the Museum of that time at the Trocadero in Paris and could again perceive its strength, madness, and humor.

The hearts revived my artistic experience, in a different way, it was a conversation from the game, it was almost like a dance.

Then, within the tour and being part of the museum's acquisition, we found some bronze spiders by Louise Bourgeois, the feminine trapped and trapping, the strength and stability of something that is an unstable feminine.

The memory of her mother.

And to finish, a retrospective of Robert Rauschenberg, irreverence, and experimentation at all levels.

Going through a tour of Rauschenberg's work was a step through the infinite possibilities of artistic expression. Rauschenberg easily united the natural with the emblematic, bringing together all the production on paper he created from the 60s to the 80s. We ended up in a work where thick bubbles of alchemical materials moved in a transparent pool.

The heart just wanted to move easily among these works, it wanted to shout that it enjoyed all these artists and had them in its heart.

And for the first time, Luis Felipe played, was and continues to be the accomplice of these wanderings.

Finally, a game of tours happened!!!”

Hearts have not only revived artistic experiences but have also redefined them, transforming the dialogue into something playful, almost like a dance. They have interacted effortlessly with the works of Louise Bourgeois and the irreverent and experimental spirit of the retrospectives of Robert Rauschenberg, resonating with the infinite possibilities of artistic expression.

In these artistic encounters, the hearts wish to express their enjoyment and keep these artists close to their 'heart.' And Luis Felipe, the perpetual accomplice, has fully participated, embracing these art-filled adventures.

By continuing on this journey, with hearts in hand, one is moving the energy of a reality that is infinitely more fun with hearts. This is the story of how a plush heart became a symbol of emotional connection and artistic adventure.

ILUMINAR NUESTRO CORAZÓN / September 29, 2023 by Denise Buraye

Cuando nos embarcamos en un proyecto, a menudo nos encontramos con imágenes y sensaciones que evocan recuerdos y experiencias pasadas. Al reflexionar sobre cómo iluminar un corazón que se proyecte en una pared, llega a Denise la impactante obra del artista francés Christian Boltanski, quien falleció en 2021. Sus instalaciones eran testimonios etéreos, donde la muerte y la luz entrelazan conversaciones continuas. La luz no era solo un mero accesorio en su trabajo; era un medio que buscaba destacar lo efímero y lo eterno.

La instalación de Boltanski en la Casa de la Moneda del Banco de la República en Bogotá dejó una marca indeleble en Denise. Aquellos ángeles fantasmagóricos, sostenidos en la pared, iluminados por pequeñas velas que proyectaban sus siluetas escurridizas, siguen bailando en su memoria incluso 25 años después. Es esa electricidad de la experiencia, ese asombro ante la inmortalidad de una obra, lo que desencadenó la inspiración para un nuevo proyecto.

Mientras la conversación sobre corazones fluía y evolucionaba, ese recuerdo de Boltanski volvía a su mente. Ahora, en lugar de ángeles, eran corazones lo que se veía proyectados en la pared. Con la ayuda de Pedro Rojas, surgió una propuesta intrigante: ¿Cómo se podría diseñar un corazón que, iluminado por una vela, reflejara su sombra en la pared?

Así nació el corazón candelabro. Este elemento consistía en la figura del corazón en acero en plano y en su parte inferior terminaba en un círculo redondo pequeño, como un anillo, por este orificio se insertaba un bastón que tenía de un lado un candelabro con una vela y al final terminaba en un tornillo. El bastón, sostenía el corazón y el candelabro. Meses de conversaciones y prototipos se vertieron en este proyecto, desafiando los límites de la creatividad. El resultado: un corazón cuya sombra, animada por el parpadeo de la vela, pulsa y vibra en la pared como si tuviera vida propia.

Este corazón, más que una simple pieza de arte, se convierte en una conexión con la energía intrínseca que llevamos dentro. Remite a esa fuerza vital que emana de nuestra cavidad pulsante, inspirando creatividad y vitalidad.

Aunque el diseño aún evoluciona y sigue siendo perfeccionado, ya es una pieza central en el taller de Cosecha de Corazones. No es solo un objeto decorativo, sino un recordatorio constante de la energía que fluye a través de todos los seres vivos, y de cómo el arte tiene el poder de capturar y reflejar esa energía de formas inesperadas e increíbles.

ILLUMINATE OUR HEART

When we embark on a project, we often encounter images and sensations that evoke memories and past experiences. Reflecting on how to illuminate a heart projected onto a wall, Denise recalls the striking work of the French artist Christian Boltanski, who passed away in 2021. His installations were ethereal testimonies, where death and light intertwined in continuous conversation. Light wasn't merely an accessory in his work; it was a medium that sought to highlight the ephemeral and the eternal.

Boltanski's installation at the Casa de la Moneda of the Banco de la República in Bogotá left an indelible mark on Denise. Those ghostly angels, held on the wall, illuminated by tiny candles casting their elusive silhouettes, still dance in her memory even 25 years later. It is that electricity of experience, that awe at the immortality of a piece, that triggered the inspiration for a new project.

As the conversation about hearts flowed and evolved, that memory of Boltanski kept coming back to her. Now, instead of angels, it was hearts that were seen projected onto the wall. With the help of Pedro Rojas, an intriguing proposal emerged: How could one design a heart that, illuminated by a candle, would reflect its shadow on the wall?

Thus, the candelabrum heart was born. This piece consisted of a flat steel heart shape, and at its bottom, it ended in a small round circle, like a ring. Through this hole, a rod was inserted, which on one side had a candelabrum with a candle, and at the other end ended in a screw. The rod held both the heart and the candelabrum. Months of discussions and prototypes poured into this project, pushing the boundaries of creativity. The result: a heart whose shadow, animated by the flicker of the candle, pulses, and vibrates on the wall as if it had a life of its own.

This heart, more than a mere piece of art, becomes a connection with the intrinsic energy we carry within. It refers to that vital force that emanates from our pulsating cavity, inspiring creativity, and vitality.

Although the design still evolves and continues to be refined, it is already a centerpiece in the Cosecha de Corazones workshop. It's not just a decorative item but a constant reminder of the energy that flows through all living beings, and how art has the power to capture and reflect that energy in unexpected and incredible ways.

Corazones acompañantes que habitan una realidad misteriosa.

Desde el principio de Cosecha de Corazones, una fuerza intangible pero poderosa ha estado en juego: la energía del corazón que fluye no solo a través de las creaciones físicas sino también a través de las tarjetas o etiquetas especialmente diseñadas que acompañan a cada corazón. Estas tarjetas son una parte intrínseca del proyecto, nacidas para unir el corazón humano con los corazones de Cosecha, actuando como mediadores silenciosos que activan la elección de un nuevo camino en nuestras vidas.

Tener una tarjeta cerca—ya sea para ser usada para escribir nuestros anhelos más íntimos o como una puerta a una energía donde todo es posible—nos recuerda que no estamos solos. Cada tarjeta es como un eco resonante que amplifica lo que los corazones buscan representar. Así como cada corazón susurra su propia melodía, las tarjetas añaden una dimensión extra, dando sentido y contorno a la energía latente del corazón.

En los inicios de Cosecha de Corazones, las tarjetas venian con mensajes inspiradores, entregados al azar pero imbuidos de significado simbólico. Uno de los primeros mensajes decía: “Que la luz de tu corazón te acompañe todos los días. Este pulsar es la vida misma y está conectado con el universo”. A lo largo del tiempo, las tarjetas han evolucionado, albergando diversos textos, fotografías y diseños para asegurarse de que, al encontrarse con uno de nuestros corazones, la energía de infinitas posibilidades esté presente.

En cada fase del proyecto, estas etiquetas se han reinventado continuamente, adaptándose a la visibilidad o invisibilidad de su impacto, pero siempre presentes para aquellos que encuentran un Corazón de Cosecha o cualquier manifestación de un corazón en sus vidas.

En los últimos años, el enfoque de las tarjetas ha cambiado de los deseos a las preguntas. Plantear preguntas abre un nuevo mundo de posibilidades y perspectivas. Cuando escribimos una pregunta, canalizamos nuestra intención y damos forma a la manera en que percibimos y recibimos lo que se manifiesta en nuestras vidas. Las preguntas ofrecen un espectro más amplio de elecciones, mostrándonos que hay otras dimensiones y formas de experimentar el espacio que ocupamos.

En este sentido, el tiempo se vuelve secundario, y empezamos a crear espacios para transitar nuestras vidas desde un lugar más auténtico y pleno. Lo que Cosecha de Corazones está forjando, en conjunción con estos corazones, se expande en un espectro más universal, más poderoso, más creativo y más consciente.

ONE TAG, ONE PHOTO, ONE WISH, ONE QUESTION

Accompanying hearts that inhabit a mysterious reality.

From the beginning of Cosecha de Corazones, an intangible but powerful force has been at play: the energy of the heart that flows not only through physical creations but also through specially designed tags or cards that accompany each heart. These cards are an intrinsic part of the project, born to connect the human heart with the hearts of Cosecha, acting as silent mediators that activate the choice of a new path in our lives.

Having a card close by—whether to be used to write our deepest desires or as a gateway to an energy where anything is possible—reminds us that we are not alone. Each card is like a resonant echo that amplifies what the hearts seek to represent. Just as each heart whispers its own melody, the cards add an extra dimension, giving meaning and contour to the latent energy of the heart.

In the early days of Cosecha de Corazones, the cards came with inspiring messages, delivered randomly but imbued with symbolic meaning. One of the first messages said: "May the light of your heart accompany you every day. This pulsing is life itself and is connected to the universe." Over time, the cards have evolved, housing various texts, photographs, and designs to ensure that, when encountering one of our hearts, the energy of infinite possibilities is present.

At each stage of the project, these tags have been continually reinvented, adapting to the visibility or invisibility of their impact, but always present for those who find a Cosecha de Corazones heart or any manifestation of a heart in their lives.

In recent years, the focus of the cards has shifted from wishes to questions. Posing questions opens up a new world of possibilities and perspectives. When we write a question, we channel our intention and shape the way we perceive and receive what manifests in our lives. Questions offer a broader spectrum of choices, showing us that there are other dimensions and ways to experience the space we occupy.

In this sense, time becomes secondary, and we begin to create spaces to navigate our lives from a more authentic and fulfilling place. What Cosecha de Corazones is forging, in conjunction with these hearts, expands into a more universal, more powerful, more creative, and more conscious spectrum.

So don't stop asking big and meaningful questions as you go through your own lives. Feel the welcome from this powerful space where a simple tag, a photo, or a few whispered words can reveal something enlightening: that YOU KNOW, and that this knowledge is the key to unlocking a larger and more fulfilling world.

ENCUENTROS CON CORAZONES DE PIEDRA / August 4, 2023 by Denise Buraye

Las piedras son monumentos naturales que cuentan historias del universo y van tomando su forma lentamente, al simultáneamente estar en constante cambio. Hay quienes se conectan con las piedras y de alguna manera saben leer las historias que cargan. Denise es una de estas personas a quien las piedras le hablan.

Cuando el universo le dice a alguien "vas a hacer corazones", también pone corazones en su camino. Las piedras en forma de corazón son una de las formas en las que la energía de los corazones siempre le ha susurrado a Denise, y ella cuenta cómo estos encuentros con estos elementos se convirtieron en una pieza clave de lo que es Cosecha de Corazones hoy en día.

Desde hace algunos años, comencé a recoger piedras, estas aparecían en caminatas y en diferentes espacios, convirtiéndose en recuerdos de los lugares que estaba recorriendo. Luego, cuando viajaba, buscaba conservar esos momentos vividos y, de forma aleatoria, recogía piedras.

Un momento significativo fue durante un viaje a la Bienal de Venecia de arte en 2013. Casi al final de un recorrido infinito, mi cámara se descargó justo cuando quería capturar lo que estaba viendo, una obra del artista italiano Giulio Paolini. Quería conservar esa experiencia, así que recogí una piedra en las afueras del espacio expositivo, donde las ruinas y el mar se unían, para recordar los dibujos y las maquetas de la obra que pretendía desdibujar lo real.

Esa piedra que recogí reflejaba la eternidad de lo vivido, sabiendo que había presenciado algo maravilloso para lo cual las palabras y las descripciones eran insuficientes; solo recoger una piedra me daba la calma de todo ese momento.

¿Y cuándo comenzaron a aparecer las piedras en forma de corazón? Por supuesto la costumbre de recoger piedras ya estaba presente en mis recorridos, y con Cosecha, todo comenzó a gritar la forma de corazón. En algunas ocasiones, ya había recogido estas piedras y las había dibujado, sin embargo tenía dudas sobre si conservarlas o solo trazar sus formas y devolverlas a la naturaleza. Así que comencé a jugar con la idea de guardarlas para destacar su forma de corazón.

Cosecha de Corazones se ha construido a partir de las ideas de Denise y el aporte creativo de muchas personas que han llegado al proyecto para dejar su huella. Una de esas personas es Pedro Rojas, un diseñador arquitecto que ha sido esencial para Cosecha. Denise y él han diseñado diferentes piezas juntos. Pedro fue fundamental en el proceso de convertir las piedras con forma de corazón en una obra de arte. La pregunta que los guió durante este proceso creativo fue: ¿cómo lograr dar importancia a todas estas piedras con forma de corazón?

Como en todo proceso creativo, pasaron por muchos diseños, diferentes tipos de soportes e ideas sobre cómo encapsular una piedra en forma de corazón y darle un espacio de importancia. A través de este ejercicio llegaron a una caja con cinco frentes, en donde la piedra queda suspendida por un pivote sostenido sobre un soporte de madera en el fondo. De esta manera, es posible admirar la piedra desde todos sus ángulos. Lo importante era darle protagonismo a la piedra, mostrando su forma, y así encontraron un objeto donde los corazones de piedra pudieran ser destacados como las grandes piezas que son, corazones de piedra formados durante miles de años, quedándose estacionados hasta ser encontrados o no.

El valor de la piedra radica en su historia y contenido intrínseco, cualquiera puede verla, pero no cualquiera puede reconocer su significado. Una piedra en forma de corazón habla de lugares, espacios, golpes, agua, tormentas, montañas, volcanes, caminos; habla de nuestro globo terráqueo, y nada de esto está relacionado con el ser humano. Solo cuando reconocemos que en ella hay algo significativo, nos damos cuenta de la dimensión universal que tienen los objetos de la naturaleza en nosotros, y es ahí cuando se abren las puertas a nuevos conceptos y estados de comprensión. En palabras de Denise: “no es sobre el amor y sí es sobre el amor, es la forma que contiene un saber, es la forma que contiene un concepto que no se explica, que va más allá de lo que somos. Es un concepto que contiene un sentido de conexión mágico.”

Cuando nos damos cuenta del poder que tienen estos objetos, comenzamos a entender y ver las conexiones que se forman, como un rizoma, en nuestra vida y en el universo. Por medio de este proceso en donde el universo pone a personas en nuestra vida, es que llegó una persona en particular que ha sido parte de Cosecha de Corazones desde su nacimiento y ha crecido junto al proyecto. Esta personita llegó al mundo de los corazones a los dos años. Ha estado presente en todas las formaciones y cambios de Cosecha de Corazones, y cada vez que encuentra una piedra en forma de corazón, canta: "Alerta corazón, alerta corazón", ¿pueden imaginarlo? Es como una alarma simbólica al encontrar piedras en forma de corazón.

Cosecha ha crecido con él y él ha crecido con Cosecha. Los corazones son tan naturales en su vida y en su existencia que ni siquiera se cuestiona "¿para qué un corazón?".

Esta última reflexión hace que todo encaje nuevamente. El corazón de piedra es un equilibrio entre la sencillez y la maravilla de los encuentros, donde las posibilidades de conectarse con la magia de lo que un corazón representa son poderosas. Estos encuentros entre elementos, personas, experiencias, materiales y energía que convergen en Cosecha de Corazones permiten que quienes se unen a este Proyecto vibren y creen Magia.

ENCOUNTERS WITH HEART-SHAPED ROCKS

Stones are natural monuments that tell stories of the universe and gradually take shape while constantly changing. Some people have a special connection with stones and can somehow read the stories they carry. Denise is one of these individuals to whom stones seem to speak.

When the universe tells someone, "You are meant to create hearts," it also places hearts in their path. Heart-shaped stones have always held a special energy that has whispered to Denise. She recounts how these encounters with these elements became a fundamental part of what Cosecha de Corazones is today.

Several years ago, I began collecting rocks. They would appear during my walks and in various places, becoming cherished mementos of the places I explored. Later, during my travels, I made it a point to preserve those cherished moments by randomly picking up stones.

A significant moment occurred during a trip to the Venice Art Biennale in 2013. Almost at the end of an endless tour, my camera's battery ran out just when I wanted to capture a work by the Italian artist Giulio Paolini. Determined to preserve that experience, I picked up a rock on the outskirts of the exhibition space, where ruins and the sea merged, to remember the essence of the artwork that sought to blur reality.

That rock I collected seemed to reflect the eternity of that lived moment, knowing that I had witnessed something marvelous for which words and descriptions were insufficient; the simple act of picking up that stone brought a sense of tranquility to the entire experience.

And when did heart-shaped stones start appearing? Of course, the habit of collecting rocks was already present during my journeys, and with Cosecha, everything seemed to resonate with heart-shaped symbols. On some occasions, I had already found and drawn heart-shaped stones, however I was uncertain about whether to keep them or simply draw their forms. Thus, I began playing with the idea of preserving them to highlight their heart shape.

Cosecha de Corazones has been built upon Denise's ideas and the creative contributions of many individuals who have joined the project, leaving their own unique mark. One such person is Pedro Rojas, an architect and designer who has played a vital role in Cosecha. Denise and Pedro have collaborated on designing various pieces together. Pedro was instrumental in transforming heart-shaped rocks into works of art. The driving question throughout their creative process was: How can we emphasize the significance of these rocks shaped like hearts?

As with any creative endeavor, they explored numerous designs, different types of supports, and ideas on how to showcase a heart-shaped stone and give it the prominence it deserved. Through this process, they arrived at a box with five sides, suspending the stone on a pivot held by a wooden base. This setup allowed the rock to be admired from all angles. The primary objective was to showcase the stone's form, ultimately presenting heart-shaped rocks as the remarkable creations they are—rocks that had formed over thousands of years, resting undisturbed until discovered.

The significance of these stones lies in their history and intrinsic content. Anyone can see them, but not everyone can fully recognize their profound meaning. A heart-shaped rock speaks of places, spaces, impacts, water, storms, mountains, volcanoes, paths—narratives that transcend the human experience. Only when we acknowledge their significance do we realize the universal dimension of nature's objects within us, opening doors to new concepts and deeper understanding. In Denise's words: "It's not just about love, yet it is about love; it's a form that holds knowledge, a concept beyond our grasp, a magical connection."

Recognizing the power of these objects enables us to understand the intricate connections that weave through our lives and the universe, much like a rhizome. Through this process, where the universe brings people into our lives, a particular person arrived who has been a part of Cosecha de Corazones since their birth and has grown alongside the project. This little person entered the world of heart-shaped rocks at the age of two. They have been present in all the formations and changes of Cosecha de Corazones, and every time they find a heart-shaped stone, they joyfully sing, "Alerta corazón, alerta corazón" (Heart alert, heart alert). Can you imagine it? It's like a symbolic alarm celebrating the discovery of heart-shaped stones.

As Cosecha has grown with them, and they have grown with Cosecha, heart-shaped rocks have become such an inherent part of their life and existence that they never question, "Why a heart?"

This final reflection brings everything together harmoniously. The heart-shaped rock embodies a balance between simplicity and wonder in these encounters, where the magic of what a heart represents holds immense power. These encounters between elements, people, experiences, materials, and energy converge in Cosecha de Corazones, allowing those who participate in this project to resonate and create a sense of magic.

Los viajes de Cosecha de Corazones, impregnados de afecto y entrelazados con múltiples destinos, generan una conversación interna embriagadora e inesperada. Desde el momento en que la energía del corazón floreció, comenzó un diálogo con los corazones. Con el surgimiento de los corazones, se desencadenó una danza de energía entre ellos y Denise.

Llevar un corazón en el bolsillo durante cualquier trayecto - ya sea una caminata, un viaje a un lugar, un restaurante, un museo, una galería, una feria, una ciudad, un bosque, un árbol, una celebración, con personas o con amores - magnifica la intensidad de la experiencia. Los corazones acompañan silenciosamente, fortaleciendo todas las vivencias de quienes escogen vivir con ellos. Caminar con el corazón crea un espacio eterno y dota de sentido cada paso y cada elemento que emerge en la vida de aquellos que se conectan con Cosecha de Corazones. El corazón está ahí para ser capturado en fotografías de la manera más sencilla y maravillosa, creando una realidad mágica.

En 2018, los corazones se convirtieron en compañeros de viaje y volaron en la primera de muchas aventuras. Estos corazones eran pequeños, cómodos de llevar en la mano.

Este viaje, que tuvo lugar a finales de enero de 2018, tenía un propósito muy claro: visitar el Monte Shasta en el día del cumpleaños de Denise. Shasta es un volcán inactivo ubicado en el norte de California, Estados Unidos, considerado un lugar sagrado repleto de mitos e historias. Con su altura de más de 4.000 metros, es visible desde más de 200 kilómetros de distancia.

¿Cómo llegó Cosecha de Corazones al Monte Shasta? A través de una gran amiga de Denise quien le presentó a un astrólogo bogotano. Este habla de un concepto llamado relocalización astral; en términos sencillos significa que mediante una lectura astral, podemos encontrar un lugar en la tierra donde es posible reestructurar y esclarecer asuntos de la vida. Es decir, viajamos a un país, una ciudad o un espacio, en donde vamos a trabajar algo pendiente o vamos a descubrir qué podemos crear y cambiar una situación de nuestra vida al movilizarnos a este lugar. Esto con el propósito de continuar edificando nuestra vida con la certeza de que estamos en el mejor sitio para empezar un nuevo año de vida.

En enero de 2018 Denise y Luis Felipe, acompañados de algunos corazones de Cosecha de Corazones, llegaron al Monte Shasta, un lugar mítico para muchos caminantes y buscadores de leyendas.

El día de su cumpleaños, con la luna en su cúspide, el clima frío y despejado y un cielo invernal azulado, salieron muy temprano hacia el pico de la montaña en carro para llegar hasta donde la nieve y la carretera lo permitiera. Alcanzaron los 2.800 metros de altura, luego todo fue surreal. Desde ese lugar, al mirar hacia arriba, podían ver la cumbre del Monte Shasta entre árboles, y del otro lado una majestuosa cadena de montañas. Era como algo que les tocaba el cuerpo y los llenaba de vida.

Un corazón rosado con dibujos impresos los acompañaba y creaba un baile entre el paisaje que los rodeaba y la montaña. Al final del camino, Denise colgó el corazón en un árbol para fotografiarlo, pero este cayó hacia abajo entre los árboles. Al principio, el corazón parecía estar lo suficientemente cerca para poder recuperarlo, pero tras varios intentos e incluso considerar parar a otros carros para pedir ayuda, fue imposible rescatarlo.

Fue en ese momento cuando todo se detuvo y fue claro que esta gran montaña estaba pidiendo una ofrenda. Parecía que no entendía la magnitud de este corazón decidiendo quedarse en la montaña. Era como si la montaña lo estuviera devorando con gusto, el espíritu de este maravilloso lugar se manifestaba.

Cuando volvieron al carro, Denise lloró y se despidió, sabiendo que algo había cambiado y que todo estaba conectado con una vastedad que no podía comprender del todo en ese instante. Lo que siguió fue como un baile entre la montaña y todo lo que vivieron ese día. Árboles, nieve, agua y una familia completa de venados.

Al contar esta experiencia, Denise explica que su “amor por esta historia cobra mayor significado cuando comprendo que nada de lo que estamos creando tiene sentido, sólo cuando nos apartamos y lo vemos con la grandeza de lo que es.”

Para mí, Luisa, esta historia es una metáfora que me recuerda algo que los corazones me han enseñado desde el primer día que entré al taller de Cosecha de Corazones. Soltar, dejar ir y confiar son las acciones más importantes que uno tiene que aprender en la vida, y los corazones, que aparecen en el momento oportuno, siempre están ahí para recordarlo. Los corazones me han acompañado desde 2017, un momento en el que mi vida se transformó. Desde entonces, he recolectado corazones, algunos se han ido quedando en lugares donde eran más necesitados y otros siguen todavía conmigo.

Recientemente, hice un enorme cambio en mi vida y me mudé de ciudad, empezando de nuevo en un espacio nuevo, cumpliendo el sueño de mi vida. Durante el proceso de empacar encontré uno de los primeros corazones que me llevé del taller cuando comencé a trabajar en Cosecha de Corazones y a este le siguieron muchos otros que tenía guardados en diferentes lugares. Fue como un regalo de la vida, que me recordaba que en un momento lleno de emociones y hasta confusiones, soltar, dejar ir y confiar me habían llevado al mejor lugar en el que podía estar, y ahora me dirijo a otra nueva aventura.

Los corazones, que siempre aparecen en el momento justo, me acompañan hoy en este nuevo espacio, y al igual que en el Monte Shasta, se conectan y catalizan una nueva energía de posibilidad infinita.

WITH THE HEART IN HAND

The voyages of Cosecha de Corazones, imbued with affection and interwoven across various destinations, ignite an intoxicating and unexpected internal conversation. From the moment the energy of the heart bloomed, a dialogue began between Denise and the hearts. The dance with the hearts was initiated with the awakening of the heart's power within her being.

Carrying a heart in your pocket during any journey - whether it's a walk, a trip to a certain place, a restaurant, a museum, a gallery, a fair, a city, a forest, a tree, a celebration, in the company of loved ones, enriches the depth of the experience. These hearts provide silent companionship, augmenting the experiences of those who choose to live among them. Walking with a heart generates an eternal space and gives meaning to every step and every element that is present in the lives of those who connect with Cosecha de Corazones. The heart is there to be captured in photographs in the simplest and most wonderful way, creating a magical reality.

In 2018, for the first time, hearts became travel companions and flew on the first of many journeys. These hearts were small, comfortable to carry in the hand.

This trip, which took place in late January 2018, had a very clear purpose: to visit Mount Shasta on Denise's birthday. Shasta is a dormant volcano located in Northern California, United States, considered a sacred place filled with myths and stories. With its height of over 4,000 meters, it is visible from over 200 kilometers away.

How did Cosecha de Corazones arrive at Mount Shasta? Through a close friend of Denise who introduced her to a Bogotá-based astrologer. This astrologer speaks of a concept called astral relocation, which in simple terms means that through an astral reading, we can find a place on Earth where it's possible to restructure and clarify aspects of our lives. In other words, we travel to a country, a city, or a space where we will work on unresolved issues or discover what we can create and change in a situation of our lives all by temporarily moving our energy to this place. This is done with the purpose of continuing to build our lives with the certainty that we are in the best place to start a new year of life.

In January 2018 Denise and Luis Felipe, accompanied by some hearts from Cosecha de Corazones, arrived at Mount Shasta, a mythical place for many wanderers and seekers of legends.

On her birthday, with the moon at its peak, the cold and clear weather and a cerulean winter sky, they set off early towards the mountain's peak by car, aspiring to reach as far as the snow and the road would allow them. They reached a height of 2,800 meters, then everything was surreal. In this space, looking up, they could see the peak of the mountain and trees, and on the other side a splendid chain of mountains. It was as though the spectacle touched their beings and invigorated them.

A pink heart adorned with printed drawings accompanied them and created a dance between the landscape that surrounded them and the mountain. At the end of the road, Denise hung the heart on a tree to photograph it, but it fell down among the trees. At first, the heart seemed close enough to be able to recover it, but despite numerous attempts and even considering stopping other cars to ask for help, it was impossible to rescue it.

It was at that moment that everything stopped and it was clear that this great mountain was asking for an offering. It seemed that she didn't understand the magnitude of this heart deciding to stay on the mountain. It was as if the mountain was devouring it with pleasure, the spirit of this extraordinary place unveiling itself.

Upon returning to the car, Denise wept and bid farewell, acknowledging that something had changed and that everything was connected with a vastness that she could not fully understand at that time. What followed was like a dance between the mountain and everything they experienced throughout that day. Trees, snow, water and a complete family of deer.

When recounting this experience, Denise explains that her "love for this story takes on greater meaning when I understand that nothing we are creating makes sense until we step back and see it with the greatness of what it is.”

For me, Luisa, this story is a metaphor that reminds me of something that hearts have taught me since the first day I entered the Cosecha de Corazones studio. Release, surrender, and trust are the most important actions we need to learn in life, and the hearts, which appear at the precise moment, are always there to remind us. Hearts have accompanied me since 2017, a moment when my life transformed. Since then, I have collected hearts, some have stayed in places where they were needed more and others are still with me.

Recently, I made a significant transition in my life and moved cities, starting over in a new space, fulfilling the dream of my life. During the packing process, I found one of the first hearts I took from the workshop when I started working with Cosecha de Corazones and many others that I had stored in different places. It was like a gift from life, reminding me that in a moment full of emotions and even confusion, letting go, surrendering, and trusting had led me to the best place I could be, and now I am embarking on another adventure.

The hearts, which are always there at the right moment, accompany me today in this new space, and as in Mount Shasta, they foster and catalyze a new energy of infinite possibility.

Cosecha de Corazones, como concepto, nació del deseo de acompañar a las personas en sus trayectos de vida y proporcionarles un símbolo tangible de un corazón que pudiera servir como un faro de creatividad, repleto de ideas. El proyecto se basó en una visión que Denise tuvo: abrazar un corazón grande.

La misión de Cosecha de Corazones y de Denise se desplegó como un llamado a formar parte de la vida de los demás. Luego vinieron los corazones, que son creados siempre con la certeza de que no estamos solos, especialmente durante períodos desafiantes cuando el universo parece revelarse de formas sorprendentes. Hace algunos años, cuando esta verdad del universo se manifestó en la vida de Denise, ocurrió un cambio profundo dentro de ella que alteró su estructura creativa. Esta metamorfosis se sintió como un susurro tranquilo que poco a poco se volvía más fuerte. Similar a la sensación de mirar hacia el vasto espacio del cielo nocturno, una sensación en la que un profundo aliento de espacio toca nuestra alma.

Fue entonces cuando los corazones comenzaron a surgir, conectando la gran expansión del universo y llegando a aquellos que buscaban algo diferente. Las imágenes de corazones empezaron a abundar, susurrando y hablando suavemente, invitándonos a mantenernos conectados con nuestro yo interior y a darnos cuenta de la sabiduría inherente que siempre hemos poseído.

El siguiente paso implicó la creación real. Durante otros períodos de su vida y proceso creativo, Denise tenía ciertas formas familiares de crear; sin embargo, sentía que todo se dirigía hacia una nueva dirección. Su portafolio, lleno de miles de fotografías que documentan la luz, los horizontes, los viajes, la forma del espacio y la belleza caótica de la fotografía, siempre estaban presentes en su mente.

Embarcarse en un proyecto tan único nunca iba a suceder como inicialmente estaba planeado. No se trataba de conectar con el trabajo que había hecho antes, sino más bien de conectar con su ser presente, quien anhelaba un viaje diferente.

Como en cualquier nuevo proceso donde hay que salirse de la zona de comodidad, Denise empezó a explorar un nuevo camino creativo en donde, retomando temas que siempre han tenido espacio en su proceso creativo, como las transparencias, las sedas y los papeles, empezó a crear corazones. El primer corazón lo cosió usando un velo, explorando las posibilidades del material y descubriendo una estructura diferente, enfrentándose a los juicios en el camino que había escogido.

Una vez este primer corazón estaba completo, Denise bordó la palabra "CONFÍA" en letra pegada. Al hacer esto, la envolvió una sensación de incomodidad. Todavía estaba arraigada a temas de transparencia y fotografía. Los corazones parecían guiarla hacia otro lugar, pero solo conocía el camino que había recorrido antes. Estaba perdida, insegura de esta nueva dirección.

En el proceso de Cosecha de Corazones, empezaron a surgir otras formas de crear y comenzaron a nacer corazones distintos. Denise buscó más telas, además del velo, esperando encontrar algo transparente. Al entrar en una tienda de mercería, la primera imagen que recibió fue una tela sostenida por manos, ondeando como una bandera. Fue entonces cuando entendió que las imágenes no tenían que verse a través de la tela; esta misma podía llevar impresa la imagen. Se trataba de imprimir la imagen.

Esta realización provocó un estallido de ideas visuales, como una explosión contenida en una carpeta. Contempló las fotos más extraordinarias que había tomado: una Venus, adoradora del amor, un beso, viajes, expansiones, amor propio, libertad, fluidez, luz, la pausa antes de avanzar y una nube.

Todo comenzó con la imagen de una nube. Le cautivó la imagen de una cabeza descansando sobre un corazón con una nube impresa. Fue entonces cuando los corazones y Denise se unieron, formando parte de algo transformador que estaba sucediendo.

Como todo lo que pasa en la vida, una decisión se vuelve un catalizador de muchas cosas que empiezan a suceder antes de que nos demos cuenta, y es solo cuando miramos en retrospectiva que entendemos como ciertos momentos fueron decisivos. La decisión que Denise tomó de hacer corazones, de explorar las posibilidades que había detrás de una idea, impulsó un movimiento, no solo de corazones, también de creatividad. Los corazones hoy son un símbolo de posibilidad, de conexión con el universo y de la capacidad humana de crear.

EMBRACE THE UNIVERSE

Cosecha de Corazones, as a concept, was born from the desire to accompany people on their life journeys and to provide them with a tangible symbol of a heart that could serve as a beacon of creativity, teeming with ideas. The project was based on a vision that Denise had: to embrace a big heart.

The mission of both Cosecha de Corazones and Denise unfolded as a call to become part of the lives of others. Then came the hearts, which are always created with the certainty that we are not alone, especially during challenging times when the universe seems to reveal itself in surprising ways. A few years ago, when this truth of the universe manifested in Denise's life, a profound change occurred within her that altered her creative structure. This metamorphosis felt like a quiet whisper that gradually became louder. Similar to the feeling of looking into the vast expanse of the night sky, a sensation in which a deep breath of space touches our soul.

It was then that the hearts began to emerge, connecting the great expansion of the universe and reaching those who sought something different. Images of hearts began to abound, whispering and speaking softly, inviting us to stay connected with our inner self and to realize the inherent wisdom we have always possessed.

The next step involved actual creation. During other periods of her life and creative process, Denise had certain familiar ways of creating; however, she felt that everything was heading in a new direction. Her portfolio, full of thousands of photographs documenting light, horizons, journeys, the shape of space and the chaotic beauty of photography, were always present in her mind.

Embarking on such a unique project was never going to happen as initially planned. It was not about connecting with the work she had done before, but rather about connecting with her present self, who longed for a different journey.

As with any new process where one must step out of the comfort zone, Denise began to explore a new creative path where, retaking themes that have always had space in her creative process, such as transparencies, silks, and papers, she began to create hearts. She sewed the first heart using a veil, exploring the possibilities of the material and discovering a different structure, confronting judgments on the path she had chosen.

Once this first heart was complete, Denise embroidered the word "TRUST" in cursive letters. As she did this, a feeling of discomfort enveloped her. She was still rooted in themes of transparency and photography. The hearts seemed to guide her to another place, but she only knew the path she had traveled before. She was lost, unsure of this new direction.

In the process of Cosecha de Corazones, other ways of creating began to emerge and different hearts began to be born. Denise looked for more fabrics, in addition to the veil, hoping to find something transparent. Upon entering a fabric store, the first image she received was a fabric held by hands, waving like a flag. It was then that she understood that the images did not have to be seen through the fabric; the fabric itself could carry the printed image. It was about printing the image.

This realization sparked a burst of visual ideas, like an explosion contained in a folder. She contemplated the most extraordinary photos she had taken: a Venus, worshiper of love, a kiss, journeys, expansions, self-love, freedom, fluidity, light, the pause before moving forward and a cloud.

It all started with the image of a cloud. She was captivated by the image of a head resting on a heart with a printed cloud. It was then that the hearts and Denise came together, becoming part of something transformative that was happening.

As with everything that happens in life, a decision becomes a catalyst for many things that start happening before we realize, and it is only when we look back that we understand how certain moments were decisive. The decision that Denise made to make hearts, to explore the possibilities behind an idea, triggered a movement, not only of hearts, but also of creativity. The hearts today are a symbol of possibility, of connection with the universe, and of the human ability to create.

CONVERSACIONES CON EL PAPEL. UN CORAZÓN DE ORIGAMI NO ES SOLO “𝑢𝑛 𝑐𝑜𝑟𝑎𝑧𝑜́𝑛 𝑑𝑒 𝑜𝑟𝑖𝑔𝑎𝑚𝑖“ / April 30, 2023 by Denise Buraye

Crear es la fuerza a través de la cual nos conectamos con el universo y al crear el mundo entero se abre y se convierte en una herramienta. Hay quienes, como Denise, que escuchan y entienden que crear es un ejercicio de exploración y oírla hablar sobre implementos como el papel, es la forma de entender la capacidad transformativa de un material, pero más allá, es ver el potencial que existe en el acto de crear.

Al mismo tiempo, crear es tan universal como es personal y hay experiencias en el proceso que solo tienen sentido cuando se cuentan en primera persona y en este caso, solo las palabras de Denise pueden explicar lo mágico que es el papel.

Ir a una tienda de papel, a una papelería o a un lugar en donde el universo de papeles es infinito, hace que la sorpresa y la curiosidad sea insaciable. Es un mundo de variedad, de colores, de texturas, de calidad y de conversaciones con el papel, que me produce excitación. Al entrar a estos lugares lo primero que aparece es la sorpresa con el olor, está en los genes de cada uno de nosotros. Sabemos sin expresarlo verbalmente que llegamos a un lugar conocido y confortable.

Piensen, ¿cuándo fue la primera vez que entraron a un lugar y el olor a papel los tomó por sorpresa?

Así que con esta introducción escribo sobre el papel y las papelerías, uno de mis lugares preferidos. Entrar a una papelería es entrar a un mundo mágico en donde todo está listo, pero no escrito, ni pintado.

Recuerdo en mis años de estudiante luego de tener una conversación con mi profesor Lorenzo Jaramillo en una calle en París, me mostró el mundo del papel y por sobre todo el papel japonés, así que aquí comenzó mi obsesión por comprar, ver y tocar el papel. Cuando salía de Colombia uno de mis lugares predilectos para visitar en cualquier parte, eran las papelerías y los lugares en donde venden materiales artísticos.

Recuerdo que al comprar algunas hojas de papel ganpi (creado en Japón) en una pequeña tienda japoneses en la ciudad de Los Ángeles, me regalaron un catálogo, en el que tenía demarcado en un mapa, todos los lugares en donde había talleres de creación de papel en Japón.

Este catálogo se convirtió en mi experiencia de sueños mágicos con respecto al papel. Lo puse encima de mi mesa de trabajo en mi taller y el universo comenzó a trabajar por mí. De esta forma hace 9 años comenzó la aventura para llegar a Japón y encontrarme con miles de conversaciones con el papel.

La idea de ir a Japón y tocar los papeles se ideó al ritmo del Universo.

Luego de esto solo pedí crear magia.

Así fue que llegué a Japón en el año 2019, llegué a Kioto para luego atravesar el centro de Japón en una buseta acompañada de maravillosos conservadores de importantes museos de Estados Unidos.

El viaje superó todo lo que yo creía que podía saber del papel. Llegue a museos y lugares maravillosos donde el agua y la vegetación eran importantísimos para la creación del papel. Hablo de ciudades y lugares como Kioto, Kochi, Echizen, Mino, Nara. Aquí hablamos de papeles que son creados a partir del kozo, ganpi y mirsumara, tres tipos de árboles con los que se fabrica el papel en Japón, llamados de la misma forma.

Una aventura que me llevó a tener este comienzo de conocimiento, cuando vi por primera vez como un delicado baile de tamizado creaba el papel delgado sutil como mantequilla, todo mi ser se encendió.

Pero el papel no es solo un lienzo, también es una estructura, la tridimensionalidad casi secreta de una hoja plana de papel existe gracias a un concepto y zona de creación conocida como el origami, esta palabra reúne la representación de innumerables figuras hechas en papel. Es sorprendente y deslumbrante ya que busca abstraer una figura llevándola a su mínima expresión conceptual y que se comprenda que simboliza una figura con la limitante que se realiza con una pequeña hoja de papel. No recuerdo cuando vi hacer por primera vez una figura en origami, solo sé qué cada vez que veo hacer algo en origami, quedo sorprendida.

¿Es esto posible? ¿Con solo una hoja de papel?

Solo cierren los ojos y piensen en el siglo primero tiempo en que se crea el papel y se crean las primeras versiones de objetos en origami, esto es abrumador.

Cuando estaba ya en mi búsqueda y creación de Cosecha de Corazones, el papel exquisito rondaba por ahí, en mi taller, el papel es uno de mis grandes amigos creadores. El papel habla y así llegó a Cosecha de Corazones. Al escribirlo me doy cuenta que me busca y que con él y con cada corazón de origami hay un conocimiento milenario que habla de mundos maravillosos y habla del mío.

Yo estoy bailando con el papel y con el corazón para llegar a estos fabulosos corazones de origami. Los corazones de origami llevan consigo impregnados miles de años de historia del papel, el amor al color y a la construcción de sentimientos en una hoja de papel.

Están creados a su vez de caminatas increíbles y de historias maravillosas cuando voy a buscarlo en diferentes lugares. Una correría por distintos mundos, personajes que lo conocen y saben de qué estoy hablando.

Mi familia y sobre todo mi pareja sabe de qué estoy hablando, de interminables horas de espera mientras yo escogía un papel y luego nos sacaban de la tienda porque mis hijos estaban enloqueciendo el lugar.

Personas que me abrían sus espacios en Japón al ver que tenía un prendedor hecho con bolitas de papel solo conocidas por los japoneses.

Corazón, color, papel enmarcados, un conjunto de sutilezas en un cuadro de no más de 8 centímetros de tamaño y que hablan de historia, creación, viajes y magia.

Hoy este escrito los invita a ver cada uno de los corazones de origami, sus colores, su sencillez y esa maravillosa historia que está cerca de ellos.

Cuando estás eligiendo comprar un corazón, un corazón de origami de Cosecha de Corazones y cuando leas este texto entenderás que no solo es un simple corazón de origami. Es un mundo, es un corazón que tiene miles de historias y que al tenerlo y mirarlo tu corazón se conectará con este gran universo milenario de historias.

Escribir los textos para Cosecha de Corazones es un ejercicio en donde Denise y yo unimos nuestras voces para contar la historia de los corazones y normalmente conectamos nuestros dos puntos de vista en un solo texto. Como parte de este proceso, primero Denise comparte conmigo ideas que ha escrito y cuando me mando el texto sobre el papel por primera vez, no encontré una mejor forma de contar esta historia que a través de su voz y su perspectiva. En conversaciones, escucharla hablar sobre la historia del papel y todos los mundos que ha descubierto a través de este material es delicioso y por eso los invito a leer este texto más de una vez para descubrir el impacto que el papel tiene en la vida de un proyecto como Cosecha de Corazones.

Cuando hablamos de la historia de los corazones, hablamos de esto, de contar estos momentos en donde todo se sincroniza y podemos compartir el universo que hay detrás de cada una de las creaciones en Cosecha de Corazones. Un corazón, más que un objeto, es un mundo con historia, es una conexión con el universo. Cada vez que alguien sostiene un corazón de origami, tiene en sus manos años de historia, de creación, de desarrollo y de ideas.

CONVERSATIONS WHITH PAPER. AN ORIGAMI HEART IS NOT JUST "𝑎𝑛 𝑜𝑟𝑖𝑔𝑎𝑚𝑖 ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑡"

Creating is the force through which we connect with the universe, and by creating the world opens and it becomes a tool. Denise is someone who understands that creating is an exercise in exploration. When she talks about materials like paper, she helps us understand the transformative capacity of this material. But beyond that, she helps us see the potential that exists in the act of creating.

At the same time, creating is as personal as it is universal. There are experiences in the creative process that only make sense when told in the first person. Only Denise's words can explain the magic of paper.

Going to a paper store, stationery, or any place where the universe of paper is infinite, generates insatiable surprise and curiosity. It's a world of variety, colors, textures, quality, and conversations with paper that excites me. When you enter these places, the first thing that appears is the surprise with the smell. It's in our genes, we know without verbalizing it that we've arrived at a familiar and comfortable place.

So, with this introduction, I write about paper and stationery stores, one of my favorite places. Going to a stationery store is like entering a magical world where everything is ready, but not yet written or painted.

I remember in my student years, after a conversation with my professor Lorenzo Jaramillo in a street in Paris, he showed me the world of paper, especially Japanese paper. That's where my obsession with buying, seeing, and touching paper began. Whenever I left Colombia, one of my favorite places to visit anywhere was paper stores and places that sold artistic materials.

I remember buying some sheets of ganpi paper (created in Japan) at a small Japanese store in Los Angeles. They gave me a catalog that marked on a map all the places where paper creation workshops existed in Japan. This catalog became my experience of magical dreams with respect to paper. I put it on my desk in my workshop, and the universe began to work for me. That's how nine years ago began the adventure to reach Japan and find thousands of conversations with paper.

The idea of going to Japan and touching the papers was created at the rhythm of the Universe.

After that, I just asked to create magic.

So, in 2019, I arrived in Japan. I went to Kyoto, then crossed the center of Japan in a minibus accompanied by wonderful conservators from important museums in the United States.

The trip exceeded everything I thought I could know about paper. I went to wonderful museums and places where water and vegetation were essential for paper creation. I'm talking about cities and places like Kyoto, Kochi, Echizen, Mino, Nara. Here we talk about papers created from kozo, ganpi, and mirsumara, three types of trees used for paper production in Japan, called by the same name.

An adventure that led me to this newfound knowledge. When I saw for the first time how a delicate sieving dance created a thin paper as subtle as butter, my whole being lit up.

But paper is not just a canvas, it's also a structure. The almost-secret three-dimensionality of a flat sheet of paper exists thanks to a concept and creation area known as origami. This word encompasses the representation of countless figures made of paper. It's surprising and dazzling because it seeks to abstract a figure, reducing it to its minimal conceptual expression, symbolizing a form with the limitation that it's made with a small sheet of paper. I don't remember when I saw someone doing an origami figure for the first time, but every time I see someone doing something in origami, I'm amazed.

Is this possible? With just a sheet of paper?

Just close your eyes and think back to the first century, the time when paper was created, and the first versions of origami objects were made. It's overwhelming.

When I was in the process of creating Cosecha de Corazones, exquisite paper was around me in my workshop. Paper is one of my great creator friends. Paper speaks, and that's how it came to Cosecha de Corazones. As I write this, I realize that paper is seeking me out, and with it, and with each origami heart, there's a millenary knowledge that speaks of wonderful worlds and speaks of mine.

I'm dancing with paper and the heart to reach these fabulous origami hearts. The origami hearts carry with them thousands of years of paper history, love of color, and the construction of emotions on a sheet of paper.

They're created, in turn, from incredible walks and wonderful stories when I go to find them in different places. A rush through different worlds, people who know about it, know what I'm talking about.

My family, and especially my partner, know what I'm talking about, endless hours of waiting while I chose a paper, and then we were kicked out of the store because my children were going crazy in the place.

People who opened their spaces in Japan when they saw that I had a brooch made of paper beads only known by the Japanese.

Heart, color, framed paper, a set of subtleties in a frame no larger than eight centimeters, speaking of history, creation, travel, and magic.

Today, this text invites you to see each of the origami hearts, their colors, their simplicity, and that wonderful history that is close to them.

When you're choosing to buy a heart, an origami heart from Cosecha de Corazones, and when you read this text, you'll understand that it's not just a simple origami heart. It's a world, a heart that has thousands of stories, and by having it and looking at it, your heart will connect with this great millennial universe of stories.

Writing for Cosecha de Corazones is an exercise where Denise and I unite our voices to tell the story of the hearts. Normally, we connect our two perspectives in a single text. As part of this process, Denise shares with me ideas that she has written, and when she sent me the text about paper for the first time, I couldn't find a better way to tell this story than through her voice and perspective. Hearing her talk about the history of paper and all the worlds she's discovered through this material in conversations is delightful. “Tengo una corazonada que todo va a estar bien,” dijo un visitante que llegó al taller de Cosecha de Corazones. Entró en su silla de ruedas, acompañado de su familia y no pudo evitar sonreír con picardía mientras navegaba entre los corazones. Al tiempo que su cara expresaba curiosidad y emoción, dijo en voz alta “tengo una corazonada.” Y con una comunicación energética entre él y Denise, exploraron las innumerables formas en que un corazón puede hablar con las personas que lo rodean y ofrecer algo único.

Pero, ¿qué puede ofrecer un corazón? Las oportunidades son infinitas. No se trata del precio o propósito, sino de cómo este corazón contribuye a la vida y al espacio de la persona que lo elige. Solo elegir un corazón y llevarlo a un mundo nuevo puede hacer que todo el espacio vibre con una nueva potencia.

Esta elección trae un cambio a la vida, y el corazón se convierte en un compañero de conversación con el espacio y la fuerza interna de la persona que lo acompaña. El corazón nos elige a nosotros, abriéndonos a la energía universal de lo infinito. No es solo un objeto físico, sino una nueva dimensión en nuestro mundo.

Al escoger un corazón y llevarlo a nuestro espacio, estamos eligiendo invitar una nueva luz a nuestras vidas. “I HAVE A HUNCH THAT EVERYTHING WILL BE ALRIGHT,"

"I have a hunch that everything will be alright," said a visitor who arrived at Cosecha de Corazones studio. He entered in his wheelchair, accompanied by his family, and couldn't help but smile mischievously as he navigated through the hearts. While his face expressed curiosity and excitement, he shared his intuition, saying out loud, "I have a hunch, an inkling in my heart." Denise and he communicated without words, in a conversation driven by the energy of the hearts, exploring the countless ways in which a heart can speak to the people around it and offer something unique.

But ¿what can a heart offer? The opportunities are endless. It's not about price or purpose, but about how this heart contributes to the life and space of the person who chooses it. Simply picking a heart and bringing it into a new world can make the entire space vibrate with new power.

This choice brings a change to life, and the heart becomes a conversation partner with the space and the internal strength of the person who accompanies it. The heart chooses us, opening us up to the universal energy of the infinite. It's not just a physical object but a new dimension in our world.

By picking a heart and bringing it into our space, we are choosing to invite a new light into our lives. We can carefully consider where to put it and then begin a dialogue with our surroundings, the heart, and ourselves. It's about opening to new possibilities and listening to what the heart has to say.

¿DÓNDE ESTÁ EL CORAZÓN DE LA CASA? / February 28, 2023 by Denise Buraye

La pintura es un medio que tiene la capacidad de comunicar llevándonos a una sabiduría y percepción individual, entrándonos a mundos desconocidos.

En palabras de Denise, “al pintar los corazones de metal, no solo estoy hablando con ellos, sino que también estoy dándole vida a seres únicos con una historia y un camino propio.” Cada corazón producido en el taller tiene un significado y una dirección que lo hace único e irrepetible, no solo por su diseño hecho a mano, sino también porque cada uno se va moldeando para ocupar un espacio específico, que el corazón mismo va reconociendo durante estas conversaciones. El proceso de crear un corazón de metal es como tocar una partitura musical donde cada pieza encaja perfectamente con las demás.

Los corazones metálicos nacieron de una pregunta, ¿dónde está el corazón de la casa? ¿Dónde está ubicado el corazón en nuestras casas? Respondiendo de manera literal, algunos dicen que es en donde las mascotas duermen, porque, los perros, por ejemplo, buscan estar en el centro de un hogar para poder estar atentos a todos los habitantes de la casa. Pensado la misma pregunta de forma más metafórica, el corazón de la casa es donde todo se conecta, es el centro que fortalece el espacio, unifica toda su energía y hace que todo esté bien.

Las dos respuestas a esta pregunta son la fuerza desde la cual nació el primer corazón de metal, una obra de arte de más de un metro de altura, que viviría en el centro de una casa. Un corazón rojo brillante, que acompaña a todos los habitantes de esa familia y cuyas líneas, pintadas a mano una por una, le dan energía al espacio.

Pintar los corazones se ha convertido en un viaje de exploración, donde la creatividad y las infinitas posibilidades son el motor que lo impulsa. Cada corazón pintado es como una ciudad imaginaria, un mundo particular que se gesta para cada hogar o espacio que va a cuidar. Hoy en día, existen corazones rojos, negros, dorados, beiges, azules, plata y muchos más, que se han convertido en potencializadores de los lugares en el que están. La presencia de un corazón de metal en una casa, una oficina, un consultorio o cualquier espacio promueve la conexión y la fuerza del lugar en el que se encuentra.

Pintar corazones de metal es mucho más que una forma de arte es una forma de comunicar, de conectar y de crear un mundo con diversas posibilidades. La forma de los corazones de metal crea una potencia simbólica que une lo alegórico con lo estético. Cada corazón es una obra de arte “particular” y una representación del potencial que tienen las ideas y el escuchar con atención que necesita y que nos está diciendo el mundo a nuestro alrededor.

¿WHERE IS THE HEART OF THE HOUSE?

Painting is a medium that has the ability to communicate, leading us to individual wisdom and perception, giving us access into unknown worlds.

In the words of Denise, "when I paint the metal hearts, I am not only speaking to them, but I am also giving life to unique beings with their own history and path." Each heart produced in the studio has a meaning and direction that makes it unique and unrepeatable, not only because of its handmade design, but also because each one is molded to occupy a specific space, which the heart itself recognizes during these conversations. The process of creating a metal heart is like playing a musical score where each piece fits perfectly with the others.

Metal hearts were born from a question, ¿where is the heart of the house? Where is the heart located in our homes? Responding literally, some say it's where pets sleep. Dogs, for example, seek to be in the center of a home to be attentive to all the inhabitants of the house. Thinking about the same question in a more metaphorical way, the heart of the house is where everything connects, it's the center that strengthens the space, unifies all its energy, and makes everything right.

The two answers to this question are the force from which the first metal heart was born; a work of art over one meter high, that would live in the center of a home. A bright red heart that accompanies all the members of that family, and whose lines, hand-painted one by one, give energy to the space.

Painting hearts has become a journey of exploration, where creativity and infinite possibilities are the driving force behind it. Each painted heart is like an imaginary city, a particular world that is gestated for each home or space it will care for. Nowadays, there are red, black, gold, beige, blue, silver, and many more hearts that have become enhancers of the places they are in. The presence of a metal heart in a home, office, clinic, or any space promotes connection and the strength of the place where it's located.

Painting metal hearts is much more than a form of art, it's a way of communicating, connecting, and creating a world with diverse possibilities. The shape of the metal hearts creates a symbolic power that unites the allegorical with the aesthetic. Each heart is a “particular” work of art and a representation of the potential that ideas have and a reminder to listen carefully to what the world around us needs and is telling us.

Escribir sobre Cosecha de Corazones es hablar de un mundo infinito, con más preguntas que respuestas, un universo lleno de posibilidades, donde la creatividad abunda y fluye.

Cosecha de Corazones es un proyecto único y transformador que ha tocado la vida de innumerables personas en los últimos siete años. Ubicado en Bogotá, Colombia, este proyecto es mucho más que un taller de arte o una marca: es un lugar donde convergen personas, ideas y experiencias, y donde todo es posible.

En el corazón de Cosecha de Corazones está la creencia de que la creación es infinita y que la búsqueda y el desarrollo de cualquier proyecto también pueden ser infinitos. Esta convicción se refleja en el enfoque del proyecto de escuchar el corazón de las personas y utilizar el corazón como símbolo y contenedor de ideas, sabiduría y acompañamiento.
